This is a good place for a light meal with a cup of coffee in Pasadena, and it’s pet friendly! The gentle man finished my order and brought my dog a bowl of water asap, I really appreciate that! We ordered one Egg Benedict and one honeycomb crepe, both are good and huge portions, a good idea of sharing together if party of 2-3.

We thought about stepping out of our norm. This place was very nice, nice music, good lighting. You have to order and pay before sitting. We have them a 7 or of 10 for taste.

I was in town for a business trip and stayed about 10 minutes from this cafe. I ended up having breakfast there twice in the same week and really enjoyed it. The selection and quality were great—you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Everything was delicious, and they offer unlimited coffee, even letting you take some to go. The staff is young but efficient, friendly, and very accommodating. The service was great. It’s not a fancy spot, but it’s cozy and comforting, with a nice selection of breakfast items and salads—simple but filling. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in town for business, which is quite often. It’s located in the heart of downtown Pasadena on Colorado Street, with parking available (mostly paid during the daytime, so be sure to check the signs to avoid a ticket). Highly recommend this place—the vibe is cool and inviting!

Hands down a great experience! At first I thought it was a bit pricey for brunch but unlike many places, it is well WORTH IT. We got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and the Popping Yolk burger, and were highly impressed. The portions were large which included the best roasted potatoes and regular garden salad. My boyfriend visiting from Ireland said those were the best potatoes he’s had since visiting lol Everything was seasoned well and the burger was cooked just right. The staff were friendly and helpful, you order before you sit down. I went purposely on a rainy day and there was plenty of seating around 1:00pm in the afternoon. The menu selection was great, will definitely want to try one of the Benedict’s on my next visit. Will definitely come back again!

Coming to Popping Yolk was such an experience. I came here with a friend on a Wednesday morning (yes, on Jan. 1st, right after the Rose Parade had gone through Colorado), and despite how incredibly busy they were, their very efficient reservation system (write down your name and phone and they will text you when your table is ready) allowed us to explore the area a bit before coming back. Upon returning, both Julie and Oscar went above and beyond to provide us with excellent customer service (despite the stress of having to deal with such a rush of customers), took our orders (you pay first, at the counter, then grab a number, and go and sit down to wait on your food at a table of your own choosing), and had us eating in no time. The French Toast alone was life-changing (I made sure to highlight that to Oscar and he mentioned the Ube one as an alternative for me to try next time I return). The eggs were also cooked to perfection. Even the garnish salad (lettuce, cherry tomatoes and some corn) was an absolute home run. If they put so much care even on a small side dish, you can imagine how good the heavy-hitters must be, huh? Ambiance welcoming and nice as well.

Had brunch here with my friend after Eaton hike. There was a line inside to place your order and you can't sit down until AFTER you place your order. So, you can't send your friend to save a table while you wait in line. (Bummer, I know). I did notice that tables are really close to each other so you don't have any privacy to talk about sensitive subjects because the people sitting next to you can hear your conversation and you can hear theirs, obviously. So, if you need privacy, this is not the place. My friend got the California omelet meal and I got the Classic Benedict, which comes with ham and bacon. And we shared the Crunchy House French toast. Everything was delicious and super satisfying. To drink I decided to try an Ube tea and it was not what I expected. I will stick to my OJ next time. Over all, really happy with service and food, will definitely come back.

This is one of my favorite spots for brunch on weekends. Their egg carb Benedict is a must try if you’re visiting. Very cozy and welcoming ambiance

My friend and I stopped here for brunch the other day and it was so yummy! I've walked passed it before but this was the first time going in. A really cute little restaurant. They're only open for brunch (they close at 3). You order at the counter and then find a seat. There's a few tables on the outside patio area as well, with a decent amount of seating inside. They had a rather large menu with a whole bunch of benedicts, omelets, sandwiches, and sweet items like French toast. They also have a small bar so you can enjoy your meal with a mimosa or margarita, if you so choose. The service staff was friendly, the food was well flavored and the meal size itself was rather large. Great place to enjoy a brunch with friends!
